Active, safe and green travel for primary school communities

Way2Go Bike Ed is a state government funded program managed by the Department for Infrastructure and Transport (the Department) and is a key component of the Way2Go Program.

The Way2Go Program promotes safer, greener and more active travel for primary school students and their communities. The aim and goals of the Way2Go Program are to improve road safety in school precincts, strengthen road safety education in schools, provide travel behaviour change initiatives to encourage primary school students and their communities to choose active travel to safely walk, ride and scoot to school and around their local areas.

BikeSA is the delivery partner for Way2Go Bike Ed. Each year, Way2Go Bike Ed is delivered to up to 4,000 students in approximately 60 schools in both metropolitan and regional areas across the state. Way2Go Bike Ed participation can lead to increases in active travel to school and the associated health, wellbeing, environmental and social benefits.
